Blocked From an American office network. Entertainment, be banned! And are there really that many lingerie shots in Lucire?

The Shrimp No surprise that our story on Jean Shrimpton and David Bailey was the most-read at Lucire last week, after We’ll Take Manhattan aired on BBC4. (Photograph by Bailey, copyright ©1965 by the Conde Nast Publications [UK] Ltd.)

Honor Dillon One of the articles rising quickly in the stats on our website is one from October 2010, on Jockey. Nothing like a bride-to-be, Honor Dillon (getting married to All Black Dan Carter this Friday) to get the perverts showing up for the last time before she’s married. Guys, you won’t get her! She’s taken!

Selling Amy You’ve got to hand it to Google for running the right ads sometimes. Run a story mentioning Amy Winehouse, get Amy Winehouse ads.

stylemom:

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Left - ELLE U.S.April 2011 Issue

Right - Marie Claire Italia April 2011 Issue.

BOTH Katy Perry and the lovely model for Marie Claire Italia are wearing GUCCI RTW SS 2011 indian jade silk duchesse jacket, exotic azure matt satin neck tie shirt, ortensia crepe satin loop pants, gold laminated python high width women’s overlapped belt with torchon lace closure with tassels and dark bamboo details….

Odds Either a massive coincidence, they have the same stylist, or two people were really lazy and got the look from the same source.

A rare occasion when we rejected good comments

These are two good reader comments that we never published. Why? Because they came from two different names, each with a Christian name and a surname—but they were unspaced. They had the same email and IP. All these tactics look spammy.

We get a lot of spam queued on our system, and even though, in these cases, the comments were not replicated all over the ’net, we chose to be safe rather than sorry. Our apologies to this reader if she is the real deal.

We actually cleared the earlier message and it appeared on our site for a day. But when the second one came with a different name, we went on alert. Had the writer used the same name on both occasions, the second one would have actually gone through automatically without a manual check.

One name is or both names are phony—and while we don’t mind pseudonyms, consistency would have helped this commenter.

Back issues and shopping We know that not many people browse these back issues’ (e.g. the above one for ‘Volante’) and shopping pages, but we still wanted to get them ship-shape and matching the rest of the site in case someone did. The shopping section home page hadn’t been updated properly since 2007. So, we spent the last eight hours creating fresh content, checking links, and redesigning all of these old pages—we hope you enjoy them.

Lucire hits the century on Google News Thank you to the team for getting 100 articles up in a month! Given the size of our team, I think this is remarkable—especially considering our first online issue lasted two months (October–December 1997).—Jack Yan

We’ve crossed 90 now Can we make the century in a month on Google News?
