Magnum focus In the new Magnum ice-cream films by Karl Lagerfeld, starring Rachel Bilson, there is one where the photographer, played by Baptiste Giabiconi, is shouting ‘Focus! Focus!’ Or is he swearing? Click on ‘Photo Mood’ and let us know what you think. (And yes, this is a Lucire advertiser but we get nothing from the link above.)

Examiner on Christie Brinkley I know I’ve dissed Examiner.com for its spelling before, so I don’t know why I returned to the site today, just to get angry again. Probably because we covered this story ourselves and I wanted to see what they said. Nothing much wrong, except: why bold part of Billy Joel’s name? Why italicize QVC and Ross–Simmons (sic) but put the jewellery collection name in quotation marks? I can understand putting ‘Uptown Girl’ in quotes and italicizing the magazine and book names, but I can’t really discern what the house style is there.

Still, this is considerably better than the two District 9 stories I saw on that site, with both writers coming up with very imaginative new ways to spell Neill Blomkamp.

(The italicization of QVC, the misspelled Ross–Simons and Blomkamp in this post is because they are cited as examples in the above text. If they were used in text regularly, no italicization is needed.)

Interesting ad appearing on the Lucire site in New Zealand today.

I can say I am definitely smarter than the idiot who cannot spell than.
